EHS Specialist

Position Summary:

The EHS Specialist is an integral part of the Fluke EHS team and works closely with manufacturing and service organizations to identify and address EHS needs and requirements. You will assess effectiveness of EHS programs and assist in the development, implementation, improvement, and sustainment of EHS programs and processes to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. You will address issues of moderate complexity, and, through application of the Fortive Business System, resolve issues through immediate action, short-term planning, and integrating long-term solutions into business processes and management systems. Teamwork is critical to the success of this position.

The essential duties and responsibilities are:

* Partner with manufacturing leaders to establish strategies and a safety culture
* Assist with the development, implementation, improvement, and sustainment of EHS programs
* Coordination of safety training and content development
* EHS data input, tracking and analysis
* EHS recordkeeping and reporting including water sampling, etc.
* Conduct EHS compliance and EHS Management System audits
* Frequent interaction with others in the organization as the EHS knowledge center, offering guidance and suggestions for improvement.
* Completion of Job Hazard Assessments,
* Present EHS materials to employees
* Inspect machines and other equipment for accident preventing devices (Lockout, Tag out)
* Support emergency response and first aid program
* Support local safety committees and providing assistance to national safety coordinators
* Evidence of ability to drive engagement and energy around safety programs
* Focus on improvements and enhancements
* Supports and manages compliance with Environmental programs (Hazardous Waste, Stormwater, Air Permitting)
* Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
* 3 to 5 years of experience in EHS in an industrial, light industrial, or high-tech setting
* Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is preferred
* Excellent verbal & written communication skills, including presentation skills
* The ability to comfortably and successfully interact with employees at all levels and from all backgrounds
* The ability to work without close supervision
* Experience working within a lean manufacturing organization
* Working knowledge of with LOTO, Electrical, Laser, industrial hygiene, and accident prevention programs
* Experience with Microsoft Suite of products, and data management tools


* The position requires 15-25% travel, primarily domestically.
